We successfully created Integrations for a third party client partner where the client was able to get dynamic updates for data that was necessary for task completion. This system eliminated the need to send emails/chats with the partner organization for data requests and saved 1000s of man-hours YoY for the client. We interfaced their ERP with the client's and achieved this via API Integrations.

Approach:

1. Requirements Gathering & System Analysis: Conducted detailed workshops with both the client and the third-party partner to understand their respective ERP systems, data structures, business processes, and specific data exchange requirements. Identified key data points, update frequencies, and integration points.
2. API Design & Specification: Collaborated with both parties to define a robust and secure API contract. This involved selecting appropriate protocols (e.g., RESTful APIs), data formats (e.g., JSON), authentication mechanisms (e.g., OAuth 2.0, API Keys), and error handling strategies. Where existing APIs were available, we thoroughly documented their specifications.
3. Data Mapping & Transformation: Developed a comprehensive data mapping strategy to translate data fields and formats between the client's internal ERP system and the external partner's system. Implemented custom data transformation logic to ensure compatibility and consistency across disparate data models.
